When he was assasinated in Sarajevo by 19-year-old Bosnian Serb Gavrilo Princip, war broke out between Austria, Serbia, and all allies in between

Major Leaders of the War

Although many countries enetred the war, there are 4 notable world leaders that impacted the war in some way or another.

Those leaders are Kaiser Wilhelm II (aggresive German Army/foreign policy), Woodrow Wilson (entered the last year of war/effectivly ended it), Franz Ferdinand (started the war with his assasination), and Nicholas II (raised an army of 4 million soldiers).

United States Involvement

Before entering the war, the U.S. had remained neutral (it had been a supplier to the United Kingdom, France, and the other Allied powers).

People in the U.S. had begun to see Germany as the enemy, and then Germany sunk the passenger liner RMS Lusitania which was the last straw for most Americans. The U.S. entered the war on the Allies on April 6, 1917

Technological Advancements

World War I brought upon many advancements in technology. The advancements range from the telephone to tanks, chemicals, planes, guns, boats, etc.

Without WWI, modern technology would not be where it is today.
